Goodbye Electrolux

After 7 long years, today's my last day in Electrolux. Not because I'm leaving to Australia because I've tendered my resignation. Everyone asked me why so sudden... it's a long story. It's a long due decision actually. I'm glad I finally find the strength and stand up to do it.

As I walked out the office main door this evening, I realize that I have no regrets and it's a new beginning. But I will miss most of my colleagues. Saying goodbye to them was a very hard thing for me to do. They've become like a family to me. So I'm glad we're in the Facebook era that helps us keep in touch.

What's Important To You?

What's important to you? Have you ever really thought about it?

Money? What's the point having all the money in the world when you have no health and no family & friends around you? Some may say, money can buy the best doctors and specialists in the world. So can they guarantee a 100% cure for ALL kinds of sicknesses? Some also may say, money will automatically gather friends around you. Are they REALLY your friends or friends of your money?

Career? What's the point being on top of the corporate ladder when all your time is spent making sure you stay there or finding ways to climb even higher? What about quality time with your family and friends? Is your family happier knowing that you are someone important in a big company or will they be happier having you around spending quality time with them?

Power? What's the point being powerful when people around you only fear and despise you? Do you gain power by stepping on others around you or is that power entrusted by people around you out of respect and honour? If comes a day when you've lost that power, will people around celebrate your downfall or will they pick you up and encourage you to stand up again?

I've been told by a certain someone that if I want to be successful in my career, I need to give my best even if it means burning the midnight oil and sacrificing personal time. Yes, I may gain career points but at the same time, I'm also losing family and health points. Is it worth it?

If you ask me, I'm willing to sacrifice all just for my loved ones, be it my family or even friends. They are indeed the most important thing in my life. Without them, there's no life. What's the point being rich, successful and powerful when you have no family and friends around you?

So think about... What's important to you?

Heaven's Grocery Store

I was walking down life's highway a long, long time ago.
One day I saw a sign that read,
"HEAVEN'S GROCERY STORE."
As I got a little closer, the door opened wide,
and I found myself standing inside.

I saw a host of angels, they were standing everywhere.
One handed me a basket and said, "My Child, shop with care."

Everything a human needed was in that grocery store.
And if you couldn't carry it all, you could come back the next day for more.

First, I got some PATIENCE, LOVE was in the same row.
Further down was UNDERSTANDING, you need that everywhere you go.

I got a box or two of WISDOM, a bag or two of FAITH.
I just couldn't miss the HOLY SPIRIT, for it was all over the place.

I stopped to get some STRENGTH and COURAGE to help me run the race.
By then my basket was getting full, but I remembered I needed some GRACE.

I didn't forget SALVATION, for SALVATION was free.
So I tried to get enough of that to save both you and me.

Then I started up to the counter to pay my grocery bill.
For I thought I had everything to do the MASTER'S will.

As I went up the aisle, I saw PRAYER; and I just had to put that in,
for I knew when I stepped outside, I would run into sin.

PEACE and JOY were plentiful; they were last on the shelf.
SONG and PRAISE were hanging near, so I just helped myself.

Then I said to the angel, "Now, how much do I owe?"
He smiled again and said, "MY CHILD, JESUS PAID YOUR BILL A LONG, LONG TIME AGO."
